Our Founder
Valerie Highland is the Founder and President of Fresh Mannah, Inc., a non-profit (501c3) organization dedicated too assisting the underprivileged communities in Central Florida with nutritional food for their pantries.
Valerie’s hope is to enlighten people concerning proper food selections and preparation to reduce obesity, diabetes, and hypertension. Her goals are to decrease hunger and to be an advocate and strong supporter to those in need. Her mission is to be that voice that will help restore a sense of being and empowerment within the community.
Raised in Manhattan and the Bronx, NY, Valerie participated in various community programs throughout the city. Giving back and providing support was second nature to her. Nurtured in a loving close-knit family, Valerie understood at an early age the importance of giving, sharing, and helping others with love, dignity, and respect.
After graduating from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology; years of buying and merchandising, business management, event planning and retiring from law enforcement has allowed Valerie the opportunity to redirect her focus to now growing, nurturing, and elevating Fresh Mannah. Valerie wants Fresh Mannah to be the lifeline for nutritional support in Central Florida.
As Valerie lives by the Creators direction and guidance, and as a committed Watchman, she’ll see to it that no one goes hungry within the Central Florida communities.
